Electing a US President in Plain English by Common Craft
How I wish I had this at my fingertips during those many lunches explaining US elections to my colleagues last year.
Key Lime Pie
My gift to you all this evening. Made today and currently chilling in the fridge before the BBQ that my Father is hosting for colleagues tomorrow evening.
It’s wonderfully refreshing on a muggy English summer evening and dead simple to boot. Enjoy!
Ingredients
375g/12oz plain or sweetmeal digestive biscuits, crushed
150g/5oz unsalted butter
Grated zest and juice of 8 large limes...

“There is no length issue. This is someone thinking “I’ll just remove this indefinite article because Coren is an illiterate cunt and i know best”. Well, you fucking don’t.” Verbose strop from Giles…
This rant simply confirms what we already knew about Mr Coren: That whilst he writes wonderfully witty columns he is a bit of a arrogant prat. I guess we can forgive him. What else do...

Stuck Pixel
Last night I suddenly noticed a patch of two or three stuck pixels slap bang in the middle of my iPhone screen. You can hardly see them in normal use but in dark conditions or when using a program with a dark UI (e.g. Twitterific) they do stands out. With all things like this once you’ve spotted it you can’t not see the defect.
I called Applecare this morning and they’ve booked...

Cracked again
About eleven months ago my MacBook, then about four months old, developed a crack at the top of the lower casing, to the right of the trackpad. It matched up perfectly with the location of the magnetic latch at the top of the screen. This is a problem that has been well documented by a number of Macbook owners.
I dropped my machine into Apple’s Regent St flagship store and they took it in...

Seventy-four-year-old Elfriede Dumont invites me into her back garden. […] There used to be a rabbit hutch, too, at the end of the garden. But not any more.
“One morning, when I came out to feed my rabbits, I was surprised to see that the hutch door was open,” recalls Elfriede.
“I looked inside and saw Rocco just lying there. His head was missing. A...

Is it better to have relationships develop...
sophiescott:
Please reblog with your opinions!
My (admittedly limited) ‘research’ reaches a rather perverse conclusion: That dating leads to great friendships but difficult relationships. Those developed organically have the nasty tendency of ending badly for both parties, or worse falling into the classic will-they/won’t-they yo-yo situation.
